The upcoming EU CO₂ Markets & Infrastructure Legislative Initiative, now being shaped by the European Commission, offers a critical opportunity to enable the coordinated rollout of CO₂ transport and storage networks. Its design must be grounded in insights from real-world projects and initiatives tackling these challenges firsthand.

On the 3 of June 2026, Bellona Europa will convene port authorities, cluster managers, industry leaders, and policymakers to share practical insights and priorities, informing the regulation’s design for effective CCS scale-up.

The event will provide concrete insights and practical examples of:

  • Regulatory approaches to infrastructure ownership and unbundling.
  • Approaches to regulatory oversight ensuring transparent tariffs while securing investment.
  • Public/private policy solutions for enabling ‘right-sized’ infrastructure.
  • Future proofing regulation to accommodate for different CO₂ source streams.
  • Strategies for coordinating multi-port and cluster collaboration on shared CO₂ networks.
  • Financing models and investment incentives to scale transport and storage capacity.
