On March 6th, we co-organised a Round Table Discussion with Danish Shipping, as part of our Ports2Decarb Project.

Our event entitled ‘Securing a multimodal CO2 transport network: Ports as a key enabler’ explored the pivotal role of ports in unlocking Carbon Capture and Storage potential. With the European Commission’s goal of capturing 280 million tons of CO2 by 2040, establishing a robust CCS value chain is paramount. The maritime sector’s involvement in transporting CO2 underscores the need for enhanced land-sea connections and specialized infrastructure. The event took place at the European Parliament, co-hosted by MEP Bergur Larsson Løkke Rasmussen.
