Project

Power Up a REnewable Society (PURE)

Led by the Municipality of Oslo in collaboration with SINTEF, Hafslund, and Bellona Europa, the PURE project aims to scale up Oslo’s successful zero-emission construction work and energy-transition efforts to cities across the EU. By leveraging Oslo’s valuable lessons from its work on zero-emission construction sites and sustainable transport solutions, the project aims to help other European cities adopt and adapt these best practices, technological insights, and strategies.

Through city-to-city twinning, PURE fosters collaboration between cities with different energy mixes and transition pathways, promoting the exchange of localised solutions and experiences. Additionally, the project develops policy recommendations to guide decarbonisation of the building sector and electrification efforts at both the city and EU levels, aligning urban strategies with broader EU climate goals.

Bellona will be contributing to the project by producing a lessons learned report for cities, a series of exchange workshops between cities and policy recommendations for cities and the EU.
