No Shtokman without foreign technology
According to Governor in Murmansk region Yuri Yevdokimov, Russia does not have technology for Shtokman field development in the Barents Sea.
The governor maintains that initial investments in the Shtokman field total about 70 billion USD, BarentsObserver reports.
“Huge difficulties” are connected with the development of the Shtokman field, with big distances from the coast (about 600 km) and drifting ice, – stresses Yevdokimov. – technological assistance from our neighbours is needed.
He also stresses that he wants the field to be developed as soon as possible. – Time will show when [development starts], he says.
