Gazprom allocates $18m to gas supplies in Archangelsk region
Russian gas monopoly Gazprom allocates more than $18m to the building of a gas pipeline in the Archangelsk region this year.
According to the Head of the regional administration Nikolaj Kiselyov, this sum is several times bigger than last years. Gas supplies to Archangelsk region covers only 8.8 percent of demands, BarentsObserver reported.
Gas consumption in the region (over 1.2 billion cubic meters) is only 1/3 of the average in Russia (4.5 billion cubic meters). According to Kiselyov, Archangelsk needs help from Gazprom to increase the regional gas consumption up to the Russian average.
