Gazprom not to build gas pipeline to Murmansk
According to Charman of the Board of Gazprom Alexander Riazanov, the Russian company does not plan to build gas pipeline to Murmansk, so Gazprom will not implement an order of the Federal Government, issued in 1996.
The Governor of Murmansk region Yuri Yevdokimov underlined that Murmansk regional authorities have constant problems with gas transportation in the region, caused by the lack of gas pipe line, Regnum reported. According to Riazanov, Gazprom plans to provide gas to the region from Shtokman field. The company will not build the gas pipeline, as the order of the Federal Government, issued in 1996, was not supported by any financial means.
